The story

The Savoy Plaza Hotel opened on Ocean Drive in 1935, one of several hundred beachside hotels built in Miami Beach shortly before World War II. Wikipedia credits its design to architect Victor Nellenbogen. Today the property joins two historic hotels, the Savoy Plaza and the neighboring Hotel Arlington, on about two acres with 200 linear feet of oceanfront. An extensive restoration was completed in 2018, and lobby murals tell the story of Miami’s past.
