The story
The inn’s buildings were a group of 19th-century farmhouses and barns on a farm that grew tobacco for Lancaster’s cigar factories, the first farmhouse dating to 1867. The farm was abandoned in the late 20th century and developers sought its demolition before it was saved in 2000. The restoration kept original wood beams and corncob joints and furnished the 62 rooms with period furniture and handmade quilts.
