The story
John Gresham, a former Macon mayor, attorney, judge and cotton merchant, built the Greek Revival house in 1842 and lived there until 1900. The B.F. Adams family bought it in 1900, extended the front porch and added columns and parquet floors. In 1983 a Victorian cottage was moved onto the nearly two-acre property, across the courtyard from the main house, to add guest rooms.
