The story

Captain William T. Spencer built the house in 1872 while serving as the local collector of customs. The 1976 National Register nomination for the St. Marys Historic District names the Spencer House among the important structures on Osborne Street, along with Orange Hall and the Riverview Hotel. The inn now offers 14 individually decorated guest rooms in the heart of the historic district.
