The story

Martin L. Hampton, who also designed Miami Beach City Hall, designed the building, which opened in 1928 as the El Paraiso Apartments. It later operated as the Claridge Hotel, and during World War II the U.S. Army Air Forces leased it. The 2011 National Register nomination for the Collins Waterfront Architectural District lists it as a contributing Mediterranean Revival hotel. Rebranded as Casa Faena, it joined Historic Hotels of America in 2015 and is part of Alan Faena’s Faena District.
