The story
The Chatham County-Savannah MPC’s Historic Building Map dates 14 West Hull Street, on Chippewa Square, to 1896. The inn says Owen and Honoria Foley built it in the late 1800s as a private home on the site of a house lost in the Great Savannah Fire of 1889, and that two early townhouses were later joined to form the inn. The inn bills itself as ‘Savannah’s First Bed & Breakfast’, an own-site claim that was not independently confirmed.
The ghost story
Ghost-tour lore holds that workers found a human skeleton inside a wall during 1987 renovations, tied to a legend that Honoria Foley killed an unwanted suitor. Visitors report spirits including a singer said to haunt Room 113.
