The story

The building opened in 1896 as the Meade School, combining federal and gothic design elements. In 2012 it was converted into a boutique hotel with 22 suites. Its lower level holds the Pointe Pub, open to the public for dinner and drinks.

The ghost story

Ghost City Tours says guests report phantom children in the former Meade School, with footsteps running down empty hallways, giggling and a bouncing ball that some tie to its schoolhouse years. Guests are also said to see a silent woman in a gray dress or cloak near the stairwells and lobby late at night.
