The story

After Lake Wallenpaupack was created in 1925, the Hawley Chamber of Commerce built a 54-room hotel to serve the visitors it expected, using native bluestone and chestnut in the Arts and Crafts style. HHA’s history says the Depression and World War II kept it from opening until 1944. The Genzlinger family bought it in 1980 and restored it, building a farm-to-table kitchen around local farms.
