The story
The Partridge Inn grew out of a private residence in Augusta’s Summerville resort district and opened as a hotel in 1910, with additions until 1929. Summerville was a fashionable winter resort, and city officials held a 1923 gala for President Warren G. Harding at the Partridge. After the winter-resort trade shifted to Florida, the building became apartments, fell into disrepair and was slated for demolition. It was saved and reopened as a hotel in the late 1980s, bought and renovated in 2014, joined Hilton’s Curio Collection in 2015, and was renovated again in 2022.
The ghost story
