The story

Carrie M. Young Harron of New York City bought the Seneca Lake property called ‘Bellehurst’ on May 13, 1885, and fifty men spent four years building the stone castle with materials imported from Europe and Medina limestone. Under owner Red Dwyer it hosted gambling until the Kefauver Commission ended it in 1952, after which Dwyer ran it as a restaurant until 1975. Duane and Deb Reeder took over in 1992 and made it a restaurant and hotel.
