The story
The Nester estate villa, built 1910-14 and modeled on the 16th-century Villa Lancellotti at Frascati, has Italian marble fireplaces, tapestries, Ionic columns and coffered ceilings; its architects Albro and Lindeberg both trained with McKim, Mead & White. The Franciscan Capuchins acquired it in 1949 and added wings for a chapel, classrooms and a dormitory. It became a resort in 1981.
