The story
The ranch began about 1900 as a cattle operation built of Mexican adobe and was homesteaded by David Young. As the CB Bar and then the MZ Bar it became a guest ranch in the 1940s, when Max Zimmerman built six guest buildings that still stand. Brew and Marge Towne renamed it White Stallion, and Allen and Cynthia True bought it in 1965; three generations of Trues have grown it to 3,000 acres and 43 guest rooms. It was a filming location for many westerns and the TV series High Chaparral.
