The story
The house stands on land John Weymouth, a Virginia native, acquired between 1821 and 1828. Though long called his home, the nomination says it was probably built for Reuben and Sarah Bullock and Mrs. Weymouth, Sarah Bullock’s aunt, after John Weymouth’s death in 1852. The Cemetery Bluff nomination calls it one of the most outstanding Natchez Greek Revival mansions and warned in 1980 that bluff erosion threatened it. It overlooks the Mississippi River across from the Natchez City Cemetery.
