The story
The building opened in 1927 as a joint venture of the private Tulsa Club and the Chamber of Commerce, with a sixth-floor dormitory, an eighth-floor men’s lounge, a gym and a barbershop. The club took over the building and closed in 1994; it then sat vacant for about two decades, suffering vandalism, squatters and fires. The Ross Group bought it in 2014 and completed a $36 million conversion with state and federal historic tax credits, reopening it in April 2019 as a 96-room Curio hotel.
