The story
Daniel O’Shea built this complex in 1909 as apartments for working-class families, many of them European immigrants. In 1961, during the tourism boom on the Beartooth Highway, it was remodeled into Red Lodge’s first and only theme motel. Its architectural layers record both lives, and it joined the National Register in 2014.
