The story
Goodyear Tire & Rubber built a retreat for its executives overseeing cotton farms in the West Valley; the 1918 Organization House was the first building. Under Paul W. Litchfield it opened to the public as a resort on Thanksgiving Day 1929 with room for 24 guests. Golf followed in 1930, with Robert Trent Jones courses from 1965. After a 2008 bankruptcy, Jerry Colangelo’s JDM Partners bought and renovated it.
