The story

The Heritage House was built for Michael Doran around 1840; brick chimney tops on it are thought to show Civil War damage. The Mountain House next door dates to about 1820 and was rented in 1859 to stonecutter Rodman Burk. Donna Callar ran the Mountain House Cafe in the Heritage House from 1980; after her death in 2003 the house stood empty during probate. Owner Karan’s family bought it in 2007 to start the inn and added the Mountain House in 2014.
