The story
Perkins, Chatten & Hammond designed the 203-foot Art Deco Northwest Tower as an office building in 1929, at the busy six-corner intersection of Damen, Milwaukee and North Avenues. The hotel takes its name from Robey Street, the old name of Damen Avenue. Belgian designers Nicolas Schuybroek Architects and Marc Merckx Interiors converted the tower into guest rooms, a lobby and roof spaces. The adjoining 1905 Hollander Fireproof Warehouse holds 20 Annex Loft rooms.
