The story
Col. Daniel Reynolds, a farmer and hotel keeper, built the two-story brick house in the mid-1850s on land he bought at public auction in 1855, three miles north of what was then a small Asheville. The NR nomination counts it among the few pre-Civil War brick houses surviving in western North Carolina. The current owners bought it in 2019 and restored and reopened it after Hurricane Helene.
