The story
The 19-story tower was one of hotelier Conrad Hilton’s first high-rise hotels and was once El Paso’s tallest building, designed by Trost & Trost in an Art Deco and Pueblo Revival style. Elizabeth Taylor briefly lived in the penthouse, now the La Perla rooftop bar, while married to Nicky Hilton. After a multi-year restoration the hotel reopened as a 130-room boutique hotel.
