The story
The inn says the house was once considered for the Governor’s Mansion or part of the Capitol grounds, and later served as a boarding house and as the home of Carl Norman’s family. It keeps 11-foot ceilings, original windows and casings, and a hand-carved banister rising from the entrance hall to the third floor, and a second-story veranda overlooks a brick courtyard. Innkeepers Brad and Bridget Peters took over from the previous owners, who retired.
