The story
Elmer A. Darling developed Mountain View Farm as a gentleman’s working farm starting in 1883, part of the Darling estate on the ridge between Burke and Lyndon. Its huge cow barn once held 100 Jersey cows, and the 1913 brick Creamery, now the inn, was built in the Colonial Revival style. A steam engine that powered butter churns and a grain mill is still in the breakfast room. John and Marilyn Pastore bought the farm in 1989.
