The story

The Holly Inn was the first hotel built in Pinehurst and opened on New Year’s Eve 1895. It was enlarged every season in its early years until it became a large square building around a central court. In 1925, Boston architects Haven and Hoyt with Lyman Sise replaced the original central tower with the classical pedimented front and added a brick porte-cochere.
