The story
Merchant James Francis built the house in 1886; the inn calls it the only stone building with authentic Second Empire architecture in Napa County. It later served as the Calistoga Hospital, where many Napa Valley winemakers and residents were born, until the state closed it in 1964. After standing empty for 52 years it was restored and opened in October 2018 as a seven-room bed and breakfast.
