The story

The hotel opened in 1882 as the Palace Hotel, then the tallest building in Cincinnati, with electric lights and hydraulic elevators and 300 rooms sharing baths at each end of the corridors. It was renamed the Palace Hotel Cincinnatian in 1948 and the Hotel Cincinnatian in 1951. A $25 million renovation in 1987 added a glass-domed atrium and cut the room count roughly in half. SREE Hotels bought it in 2017 and reopened it under Hilton’s Curio Collection after a 2018 remodel; the marble and walnut grand staircase survives.
