The story

Siebkens grew from 19th-century Elkhart Lake hotels: the state inventory dates the Lake Cottage, built as the Schwartz Hotel, to 1873 and the Belleview, built by William Schwartz, to 1882. The two-story Elm Park Hotel, which the resort says Laura and Herman Siebken built in 1925, holds 24 historic rooms, and the Lake Cottage on the bluff above the lake has six more. The resort was listed on the National Register as a district in 2020.
