The story
Benjamin Catley, English-born and in Columbus by 1836, bought the whole block from the Franklin School on August 1, 1848. Ten families have lived in the house. T. A. McGahey, owner of a local marble works, bought it in the 1920s and modernized it, and the marble porch dates from a repair after a car crash. It was restored in 2001, and the inn says it was featured on HGTV’s Old Homes Restored. It is a Columbus Pilgrimage tour home.
