The story
Built in 1896, 101 Pitt Street has long been the Old Village’s neighborhood hub. In 1984 it was reconfigured with a restaurant downstairs and inn rooms upstairs. It sold to local investors in 2019, closed for a redesign by Ben and Kate Towill of Basic Projects, and reopened in August 2020 as Post House, a tavern with seven rooms; Travel + Leisure named it one of the 10 best inns in the continental U.S. in 2026.
