The story
Built in 1813 and known locally as ‘The Yellow House’, the property became the homestead of Daniel Pickering, a Wolfeboro businessman and the town’s first postmaster. Ells were added around 1843 and 1870. After it fell into disrepair, it was sold in 2016 and reopened as a ten-room boutique hotel in summer 2018. It was listed on the National Register in 2019.
