The story
Architectural designer Herbert Burns designed the small Village Manor hotel in 1955, and it keeps many original interiors, including pink tile bathrooms. It was one of the first midcentury hotels in Palm Springs to be sympathetically rehabilitated, operating as the Orbit In. The city council designated it a Class 1 Historic Site in January 2016.
