The story
Glass industrialist Edward Drummond Libbey began the Ojai Valley Country Club in 1923, with a golf course by George C. Thomas Jr. and a Spanish Colonial Revival clubhouse by Wallace Neff. A two-story inn joined the clubhouse in 1934. Jim and Paula Crown bought the resort in 1985 and invested about $50 million, expanding it to a couple hundred rooms with a spa and conference space.
