The story

David Robbins Sr., a Methodist lay preacher and acting judge, built a modest house on this Broadkill farm in 1810; the present two-story frame farmhouse dates to about 1850, with a Victorian-style addition built between 1889 and 1909. Charles G. Jones bought the farm in 1925 and ran his holly-wreath business from it, becoming known as the ‘Holly Wreath Man’ of Delaware’s holly industry. The house was listed on the National Register as the David Robbins Homestead in 2013, and Will McQueen and David Stiber opened it as a bed-and-breakfast in 2017 after a remodel.
