The story
Lumber baron Frank Boutin Jr. built the rambling Queen Anne mansion in 1908, with a rock-faced brownstone base, a beige brick first floor and clapboard and shingle upper stories. Its richly decorated interior survives largely intact. The Phillips family of the Old Rittenhouse Inn bought it in 1987 and, after extensive renovation, opened it as a sister inn with seven guest rooms and Lake Superior views.
