The story

Cleveland architect Levi Scofield, who also designed the Soldiers’ and Sailors’ Monument, designed the building for the Calabrese family, and it opened as offices in 1902. In 1969 new owners stripped most of its terra cotta and sandstone ornament and covered it in a modernist Glasweld skin, renaming it the Euclid Ninth Tower. A five-year restoration removed the modern facing and restored the original facade. The lower seven floors became the Kimpton Schofield Hotel and the upper seven the Schofield Residences.
