The story

Amherst College alumni began planning an inn for the town in 1910, and land at Spring Street and Boltwood Avenue was bought in 1925. The Colonial Revival inn, named The Lord Jeffery Inn, opened on June 3, 1926 with 70 small guest rooms. Joslow Associates restored its 1926 character in 1986, and a 2012 renovation modernized it before it took the name Inn on Boltwood.
