The story
James Brown acquired a plantation on Beargrass Creek between 1810 and 1824, and his son Theodore inherited 250 acres of it in 1853. The brick Gothic Revival house has a projecting gabled center bay with bargeboard and an oriel window, a Tudor-arched entry and quatrefoil tracery. The inn has 14-foot ceilings and diamond-paned windows across its Main House, Carriage House and Rose Cottage, eight rooms in all. Select Registry named it its 2025 New Member of the Year.
