The story
New York Frigidaire executive Winston Paul bought the property in 1929 and commissioned architect Ellis Bjorling to design a private guest ranch. Crews began in fall 1929, and the club opened June 25, 1930 with the main lodge, nine guest cabins, a hydroelectric plant, fishpond and hot springs pool. Paul sold to Joseph Lanz in 1942, and Lanz sold to Idaho auto dealer Edmund Bogert in 1952. Bogert’s daughter, Rozalys Smith, reopened it as a guest ranch in 1977.
