The story
The seven-story Hotel Petersburg was built in 1915 and operated until it closed in 1969. Local entrepreneur Nat Cuthbert led its restoration, keeping the original marble columns, grand marble staircase with brass handrails, terra-cotta cornices and the marble registration desk with wooden mail slots. It reopened in 2024 as a Tapestry Collection by Hilton hotel.
