The story
Charles H. McCauley designed the eight-story Medical Arts Building, built in 1931 as the first medical arts tower in the city and the only Art Deco skyscraper in the neighborhood. It became the Pickwick Hotel in 1984. The Pickwick closed in January 2007, and after a renovation the building reopened in 2008 as the Hotel Highland. Marshall Hotels & Resorts opened it as the 63-room Hotel Indigo in September 2018 after a $5 million conversion.
