The story
The hotel was built in 1924 as a 64-room property in downtown Astoria. A $4 million renovation in 2003 reduced it to 32 rooms and suites, some with fireplaces and spa tubs and all with heated stone bathroom floors. The state inventory records it as the Niemi Hotel Building, a contributing building in the Astoria Downtown Historic District.
