The story
Clarke Place was laid out in 1890 as a thirteen-lot South Park Villa subdivision on land that had been part of an orphanage farm. The 1901 Queen Anne house was split into upstairs and downstairs apartments in the 1940s and stayed that way until 2001, when it became a bed and breakfast. The current innkeepers bought it in 1999 and spent several years restoring it.
