The story
Michael Scanlan, of the Irish family that first settled the Lanesboro site in 1856, built this Queen Anne house; the nomination calls it a well-articulated, well-preserved local example of the style. It keeps its original woodwork, stained glass and rare stamped leatherette paneling in the dining room. The owners say it has operated as a bed and breakfast for 31 years, one of the longest-running in Lanesboro and the state.
