The story
Fort Worth civic leaders began planning the hotel in 1919, and the Hotel Texas was completed in 1921 to designs supervised by Sanguinet and Staats, with elaborate terra cotta detailing. President John F. Kennedy stayed here the night before his assassination and gave his last address in the Crystal Ballroom on the morning of November 22, 1963. The hotel was later remodeled for the convention center, operated as a Hyatt Regency and a Radisson, and relaunched as Hilton Fort Worth after Hilton bought it.
