The story

W. E. Davis and his wife Annie Cole Davis built the house in 1912-13 for a documented $12,500, on a lot given by her aunt and uncle. The family lived there until 1971, when Ruth Crook and Virginia Magee bought it for their antiques business and gave it the Heritage House name. By the early 1990s it was in disrepair, with proposals to demolish it for a fast food restaurant. Barbara Patton and her son Richard bought and renovated it and opened a bed and breakfast in 1994. Leif Espelund and Dani Nelson bought it in January 2020 and have hosted guests since June 2020.
