The story

As Edgartown shifted from whaling to tourism, local leaders planned a light rail from the Oak Bluffs ferry and an ocean-front resort, and the Harbor View opened on July 23, 1891. Its dining room was enlarged to seat 120 in 1896. Steven Spielberg and the cast and crew of ‘Jaws’ took an entire floor in 1975. The lobby was renovated in 2019.
