The story
Francis Kavanaugh Glidden, eldest son of Glidden paint founder Francis Harrington Glidden, and his wife Mary commissioned the house, completed in 1910 in the Wade Park Allotment. Mrs. Glidden added a second front door so the house could use the more prestigious Magnolia Drive address. The family lived there until 1933; the house later held Case Western Reserve University’s psychology department before becoming a hotel. The library, parlor and loggia survive and now serve as the breakfast rooms.
