The story
Louisiana Supreme Court judge Thomas Thompson Land built the house in the early 1870s with his wife, Mary Eliza Dillingham, and it stayed in the Land family for more than 91 years. The inn says it may be one of the oldest surviving homes on Fairfield Avenue. It is run with nearby Fairfield Manor by chef John Cariere’s catering business.
