The story
Capt. John K. Hoyt built Engadine for his family in 1885, and the NR nomination places it among the shingle-style houses of 1880-1900. The house opened as a bed-and-breakfast in 1994 and was listed on the National Register in 2001. Guests now stay in the historic inn or in cabins on the 12-acre property.
