The story

The Hotel Indiana was built in 1919–20 on West Market Street, one of the two largest buildings put up in downtown Wabash in the early 20th century. When the Downtown Wabash Historic District was listed in 1986, the nomination called it the largest of the district’s roughly 100 buildings, then operating as the Red Apple Inn. Restored as the Charley Creek Inn, the Georgian Revival hotel now has 30 boutique rooms and suites, and the inn says the restoration earned Indiana’s highest historic preservation honor.
