The story
Eliza and William Beighle opened the Centrella Cottage as a boarding house in 1889, and it hosted visitors during President Benjamin Harrison’s 1891 stop in the area. As Pacific Grove grew the house gained turrets, porches and more rooms. Joseph Megna and Gary Jones later restored it, keeping original woodwork and fixtures, and it was listed on the National Register.
